Co-ordinating
conjunctions:
1. Copulative conjunctions = And, as well as,
both, neither nor, not only but also
2. Disjunctive conjunctions = or, either or, or
else
3. Adversative conjunctions = but, still, yet,
while, nevertheless
4. Causative- consecutive conjunctions = so, for,
therefore
Subordinating
conjunctions:
1. Subordinating conjunctions introducing subject,
predicate and object clauses = that, if ,whether
2. Subordinating conjunctions introducing
adverbial clauses or phrases of place = where, wherever
3. Subordinating conjunctions of time = when,
since, before, till, after, until, till, while, as long as, as soon as
4. Subordinating conjunction of concession =
though, although
5. Subordinating conjunctions of reason or cause =
as, because, since
6. Subordinating conjunctions of condition = if,
unless. Provided
7. Subordinating conjunctions of purpose and
result = that, in order that, so that, lest
